Laptop LCD screens are indeed covered from manufacturer defects. If your screen is cracked, the manufacturer is not going to cover the unit’s repair. Some manufacturers offer a special accidental breakage warranty- these are few and far between and sold at an additional cost when you purchased the laptop- if you have one of these it may indeed cover accidental breakage, spill damage, and more.
Laptop LCD screens are usually not terribly expensive. In fact many are around $119. The cost varies greatly from machine to machine.
