Most people would agree that Windows XP was an outstanding upgrade. Many people moved to it from Windows 98 or Windows 2000. Windows 7 was another great upgrade. However, it seems that the time to love XP is over with though. There are a lot of machines out there still running it; almost as many as 1 in 3 according to this article by ars technica.

Here in Cary North Carolina, most people want the latest and greatest technology, or at least an efficient and fast machine and have outgrown XP. But there are plenty of people who say “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it”.

With support ending for an OS, people will need to upgrade to stay secure. We believe the 29% number will start to drop quite a bit by 2015 as older machines become too slow to use and security becomes an issue.
